Aadhaar for LPG Gas will now to be compulsory for 35 more districts after its cusp implementation

  • Aadhaar Number the potential game changer of the Indian subsidized driven mindset has been receiving tremendous response from people. Recently the Indian Government when announced linkage of Aadhaar number to the LPG gas customers bank accounts, initially received many setbacks but slowly when government said it will be implemented in phased manner the people got aware of it.

    After the first phase of implementation in 20 districts its is learned that the landmark decision of government seemed well adopted by the citizens. The cusp scheme of transferring the gas (LPG) subsidy directly to consumers in their bank accounts will soon be extended to 35 more districts of the country.

    The districts like Jalandhar, Ludhiana and South goa are in the list of 35 districts and the mandatory linkage of Aadhaar Number is expected to be implemented from next month.

    After the second phase of implementation the total number of LPG consumers linked will be elevated to 3.52 crore consumers and they will get an advance of Rs.435 in to their bank accounts soon they book a LPG refill.

    The amount will be transferred only for the subsidized refill limit for the consumer, which is currently 6 cylinders per year to a single person.

    The second phase implementation commences from September 1st include 12 districts in Kerala, 7 in Andhra Pradesh, 7 in Himachal Pradesh, 5 in Punjab, 2 in M.P and 1 each in Maharashtra and Goa.

    The Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme aiming to curb leakages and black-marketing is going in a right path and is currently serving around 4 million LPG consumers with an aggregate of around Rs.150.6 crore direct transfers to the consumers.
