PV Sindhu looses and settles for Bronze medal at Badminton World Championships

  • Sindhu looses to the tactical shots of Ratchanok..

    India's fast rising shuttler Pusarala Venkata Sindhu today lost to Ratchanok Inathanon, Thailand, for 10-21 13-21 in a 36-minutes game here at World Badminton Championships and settled for a bronze medal.

    Playing at her maiden World Championships, the world no. 12, PV Sindhu had toothed up stunning victories against two Chinese players in the run-up to the semifinals but finally came down against Inathanon's deceptive tactics.

    Confounded Sindhu was not able to anticipate the opponent's shots and gone down in straight games. The 4th seeded Thai girl played sensational strokes and her accuracy was awesome. A lot of times Sindhu erred by hitting the shuttle out of the court ending up losing points.

    Sindhu who won the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold this year has to improve a lot match the world class shuttlers and has a lot to learn to go ahead.

    On the other hand, Ratchanok Inathon, aged 18, is the first one to assure a silver medal at World Championship. Her previous achievements include Winning India Open in New Delhi, Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold, Silver medal at 2010 Asian Games and also a three time world junior champion.
