The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced final result of the Engineering Services Examination, 2010 held in June 2010 and the interviews for Personality Test held in February – March 2011. Following are the lists, in order of merit, of candidates who have been recommended for appointment to various Services/posts in Ministries/Departments concerned. The number of candidates recommended for appointment are:

1. 178 candidates in Civil Engineering Group;
2. 134 candidates in Mechanical Engineering Group;
3. 102 candidates in Electrical Engineering Group; and
4. 170 candidates in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Group.

A total number of 584 candidates recommended for appointments in these four lists include 268 General, 172 Other Backward Classes, 99 Scheduled Castes and 45 Scheduled Tribes (including 19 candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped category.

The result of 02 candidates in Mechanical Engineering discipline has been withheld.

Appointments will be made according to the number of vacancies available and keeping in view the amended Rules and with due consideration to the provisions contained in rule 5 (b) and 16 of the rules for the examination relating to restrictions on the eligibility of candidates admitted to the examination under age concession and allotment of candidates to various services according to ranks obtained and preference of services expressed by them. The number of vacancies reported by the Govt. for Group ‘A’ posts’ to be filled in for Civil Engineering Group is 199 (101 General, 54 Other Backward Classes, 32 Scheduled Castes, 12 Scheduled Tribes & these include 07 vacancies for PH-1 & 01 vacancy for PH-2 candidates); for Mechanical Engineering Group is 158 (82 General, 43 Other Backward Classes; 24 Scheduled Castes and 09 Scheduled Tribes and these include 02 vacancies for PH-1, 01 for PH-2 & 02 for PH-3 candidates); for Electrical Engineering Group is 117 (63 General, 27 Other Backward Classes, 17 Scheduled Castes and 10 Scheduled Tribes & these include 01 vacancy for PH-1 & 03 vacancies for PH-3 candidates) ; for Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Group is 183 (93 General, 50 Other Backward Classes, 26 Scheduled Castes, 14 Scheduled Tribe and these include 05 vacancies for PH-1 & 01 vacancy for PH-3 candidates).

In accordance with Rule 13 (iv) and (v) of the Engineering Services Examination Rules 2010, the Commission is maintaining a consolidated Reserve List of candidates for each group as under:

(i) Civil Engineering Group: 42 candidates, which include 21 General, 17 Other Backward Classes, 01 Scheduled Castes & 03 Scheduled Tribes candidates.

(ii) Mechanical Engineering Group: 40 candidates, which include 20 General,17 Other Backward Classes & 03 Scheduled Castes candidates.

(iii) Electrical Engineering Group: 26 candidates, which include 13 General, 10 Other Backward Classes, 02 Scheduled Castes & 01 Scheduled Tribes candidates

(iv) Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Group: 26 candidates, which include 13 General, 11 Other Backward Classes & 02 Scheduled Castes candidates.

Union Public Service Commission has a ‘Facilitation Counter’ near Examination Hall Building in its Campus. Candidates may obtain any information/ clarification regarding their Examination/ recruitments on working days between 10:00 A.M. and 05:00 P.M. in person or over Telephone Nos.23385271 and 23381125 from this Counter. The result is available on PIB website www.pib.nic.in and also on UPSC website http://www.upsc.gov.in.

The mark sheet would be available on the Commission’s website for a period of thirty days. Candidates can access the mark sheet after keying (i) the Roll Number and (ii) the date of birth.
