BIOTYRES
Biotyre are new bio-based Eco friendly tires produced from sugar by using biotechnology. It is the world's first 'green' tires made from sugar.
Raw Materials used:- Normally petroleum or rubber trees are used to produce tires.
- Biotyres use sugar as raw material.
- Sugar is produced from genetically engineered microbes by using biotechnology.
Advantages of Biotyres:
- Production of a traditional single tyre requires 7 gallons of oil. Oil reserves are not renewable resources. So by using biotyres we can restrict the petroleum usage.
- Also emission of GHGs can be reduced.
- Annually almost one billion tyres are produced by using petroleum / natural rubber trees. By using biotyres, we can preserve the forests & also cause Carbon Sink.
- Recyclable is main advantage of biotyres.
