  • NASA's Endeavour space shuttle and its 6 member crew lifted off at 8:56 a.m. EDT i.e., 6:26 p.m. IST for a final mission to the International Space Station. Commander Mark Kelly and crew will deliver the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer to the International Space Station. During the 16- days mission, Endeavour will deliver the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer and spare parts including two S-band communications antennas, a high-pressure gas tank and additional spare parts for Dextre to the orbital outpost.

After an on-time liftoff and healthy climb to orbit from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, space shuttle Endeavour's spent external fuel tank is jettisoned.
