The Staff Selection Commission, the major Central recruitment agency, is planning to introduce a "Common Screening Test". The Idea of introducing CST is to reduce the recruitment processes at various sectors of government. According to the Official sources, SSC chairman Mr N.K. Raghupathy has submitted such proposal to the Centre recently and is awaiting approval of the Union Cabinet.
Some Important & Basic Facts about the CST Exam are:
- The CST Exam will include various levels like Matric, higher secondary and graduate level.
- The scores of CST Exam could be used for screening candidates by all government departments, PSUs, banks and to Civil Services Exam(Mains) etc.
- The Candidates/Aspirants can appear for the CST as many times as they wish.
- The scores of CST will be valid for two years.
- According to the scores obtained by the candidate grades will be given which will be the deciding factor on the type of posts the aspirants will be selected for.
- Duration of the CST exam will be two hours with the objective type of the question paper. It will include subjects like English, general awareness, general intelligence and Mathematics. Each of the sections will have 50 questions.
- The Certificate will be sent to the candidate’s address and the duplicate copy can be downloaded from the official website, with the validity of two years.
