Ban on Bulk MMS and SMS in advance to the Ayodhya judgement extended to 29 September

  • The government on Thursday extended the ban on bulk MMS and SMS till September 29 as a preventative measure in view of the court judgement on the Ayodhya title suit.
    The order was formally issued by the Ministry of Communications in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
    The Ministry issued orders to all the mobile telecom service providers in the country for "banning all bulk MMS and SMS in all service areas with immediate effect till September 29".
    The Supreme Court gave postponed the hearing of the Verdict a week which is due to be pronounced at Allahabad High Court on 24th September. And the court will hear the plea on September 29th that is next Tuesday.
