Ban on Bulk MMS and SMS for three days..

The government banned bulk SMS and MMS for three days with an immediate effect on the account of the Ayodhya title suits verdict.

After consulting with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Communications issued the order.

The order has been issued to all mobile telecom service providers in the country for “banning all bulk SMS and MMS in all service areas with immediate effect for next 72 hours”.

The step comes two days before the verdict by the Allahabad High Court on the title suit of the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute on Friday.

The government is discerning that some of the extreme elements may stir up trouble by inciting communal passions after the delivery of the judgement.

Earlier, Home Minister Mr.P. Chidambaram appealed for peace and caution against rushing to any incompatiable conclusion over the judgement.
